RMUTL Welcomes Delegation from IIUM Malaysia

On July 31, 2026, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), byFaculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, in collaboration with Office of International Relations, organized a study visit and academic knowledge exchange in art and design for a delegation of faculty members and students from the Department of Applied Art and Design, Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The visit was held at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, RMUTL Jed Yod Campus, with Ajarn Natee Sampuranapan, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, presiding over the welcoming session and discussion.

During the visit, the IIUM delegation explored and exchanged knowledge on various aspects of art, design, and creative works developed by the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture. The program began with a visit to an exhibition showcasing works from nine academic programs at the Jed Yod Art Gallery, followed by an exhibition featuring lacquerware-related works. The delegation then visited exhibitions and creative works in contemporary fashion design, as well as industrial design and handicrafts.The visit concluded with an academic discussion and knowledge exchange session, during which representatives from both institutions discussed potential areas for future collaboration, including academic cooperation, student and staff exchanges, and the development of international academic networks.

The delegation from International Islamic University Malaysia expressed strong interest in strengthening its relationship and developing closer collaboration with Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna. Both sides also discussed the possibility of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the future as an important framework for promoting the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and educational opportunities, as well as further advancing international collaboration in art and design.

This study visit and academic exchange marked another important step in strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions in Thailand and Malaysia. It also reflects RMUTL’s commitment to promoting international academic collaboration and developing knowledge and human resources in art and design to create innovative solutions that respond to the needs of society and communities. Through continued collaboration and knowledge exchange, both institutions aim to contribute to meaningful and sustainable development at the international level.
