RMUTL Joins Celebration of India’s Independence Day

On August 29, 2026, Associate Professor Wichet Thippasert, Acting President of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), assigned Assistant Professor Dr.Siraprapha Chainet, Vice President, and Associate Professor Dr.Thitibhorn Phantachang, Assistant to the President, to attend the celebration of India’s Independence Day in Chiang Mai.

The event was attended by Mr. Pranop Ganesh, Consul General of India in Chiang Mai, and Mr. Ratthaphon Naradisorn, Governor of Chiang Mai, who jointly participated in the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and extended their congratulations. Representatives from educational institutions, government agencies, the private sector, and distinguished guests also joined the celebration.

India celebrates its Independence Day annually on August 15, commemorating its independence from British rule on August 15, 1947. In 2026, India marks the 79th anniversary of its independence, entering its 80th year as an independent nation.
