On March 31, 2026, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, by Office of International Relations, officially held the opening ceremony of the Learning Express 2026 (LeX 2026) program in collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore. This marks the 10th consecutive collaboration between the two institutions, reflecting their strong and enduring partnership. The opening ceremony was graciously presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Thitibhorn Pantachang, Assistant to the President, at the Innovation Room, 6th Floor, Chalermphrakiat 56th Anniversary Building, RMUTL, Chiang Mai.

The Learning Express 2026 program is being held from March 30 to April 10, 2026, at RMUTL and in local communities in Chiang Mai Province, including Ban Ton Than Noi, Ban Nam Ton, and Ban Luang Tai. The program aims to promote collaborative student activities between the two institutions through interdisciplinary teamwork, focusing on experiential learning in social innovation for communities. Participants will apply design thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and English communication skills in a multicultural context, under the guidance of faculty members from both institutions.

The program brings together 33 participants from Singapore Polytechnic (30 students and 3 facilitators) and 50 participants from RMUTL (30 students, 14 facilitators, 2 observers, and 4 coordinators).

In addition, the program is honored to welcome five observers from Nanhua University, Taiwan, including one lecturer, one staff member, and three students. The event also features a keynote session by Assistant Professor Dr. Nopadon Maneetien, Director of the College of Technology and Interdisciplinary Studies, RMUTL, who shared his knowledge and experience with the participants.

Following the opening ceremony, participants engaged in various activities, including meeting their “Local Community Buddies,” presentations of three student projects by RMUTL students, an orientation on the living environment, icebreaking sessions, teambuilding activities, and basic local language learning to build communication confidence. The program also included a campus tour, an industrial talk by an invited speaker, and a design thinking recap session to prepare participants for their fieldwork in the communities.

The Learning Express program serves as an important platform for experiential learning, community engagement, and the development of international collaboration skills, contributing to the development of globally competent graduates in the future.
