Meeting with Asian Institute of Technology (AIT)

On July 7, 2025, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), by Office of International Relations, hosted a collaborative meeting with representatives from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) at the Sompor Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Office of the President Building, RMUTL.

The meeting was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitibhorn Phantachang, Assistant to the President, with participation from Dr. Paweeya Raknim, also Assistant to the President, faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science and Agricultural Technology, as well as staff from the International Relations Division.

The AIT delegation included Prof. Abdul Salam, Dean of the School of Environment, Resources and Development; Dr. Ha Thanh Dong, Lecturer; and Miss Jittima Noyneam, Coordinator from the Department of Food, Agriculture & Natural Resources.

The purpose of the meeting was to exchange information and explore potential academic collaboration between the two institutions, with a particular focus on science and engineering. Key areas of interest included:

  • Dual Degree Programs (Master’s and Ph.D. levels)

  • Unified Programs

  • Student, Faculty, and Staff Exchange Programs

  • Research Collaboration and Shared Research Facilities

  • Academic Conferences, Workshops, and Trainings

AIT also introduced a variety of scholarship opportunities available for prospective students, such as:
HM King’s Scholarship, HM Queen’s Scholarship, Loom Nam Khong Pijai (GMS Scholarship), Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program, DAAD Scholarship, RTG Fellowship, and AIT Scholarship.

Following the discussion, both parties expressed a mutual interest in formalizing their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the near future.

This collaboration between RMUTL and AIT marks a significant step towards enhancing academic capacity and expanding opportunities for joint education and research at the international level.
