Meeting with Nanhua University (NHU), Taiwan

On June 27, 2025, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), by Office of International Relations, hosted a collaborative meeting with a delegation from Nanhua University (NHU), Taiwan. The meeting took place at the Kaefarang Meeting Room, 6th Floor, Main Academic Building, RMUTL Chiang Mai Campus.

The session was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teerasak Urajananon, Vice President for Council Affairs, who chaired the meeting. He was joined by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitibhorn Phantachang, Assistant to the President; Asst. Prof. Dr. Janyawat Tancharoenrat Vuthijumnonk, Deputy Director of the College of Integrated Science and Technology; members of the International Design Thinking Education Steering Committee; and staff from Office of International Relations.

The NHU delegation comprised the following representatives:

  1. Prof. Dr. Yueh-Chiao Yeh – Vice President of Nanhua University

  2. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yu-Te Kuo – Executive Director of the Bilingual Office and Dean of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature

  3. Asst. Prof. Dr. Tien-Hsiang Huang – Department of Architecture and Landscape Design

  4. Asst. Prof. Dr. Yi-Jie Liao – Master’s Program in Green Technology for Sustainability

  5. Ms. Ruey-Yun Tsai – USR Project Assistant

  6. Ms. Hsin Chen – USR Project Assistant

  7. Ms. Pei-Hsuan Huang – USR Project Assistant

  8. Mr. Kuang Liang Ku – USR Project Assistant

  9. Ms. Ya-Yueh Huang – Student, Department of Foreign Languages and Literature

The meeting aimed to explore opportunities for future academic collaboration, particularly in community-based service learning (CSR Projects) that promote global engagement, bilingual education, student exchange, and the integration of design thinking in education.

Following the meeting, members of RMUTL’s International Design Thinking Education Steering Committee accompanied the NHU delegates on a field visit to Ton Haen Noi Village, Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai. There, they joined the local community in signing application documents for the Slow Food Declaration, an international initiative that values local food heritage, sustainability, and the preservation of culinary culture. The signed documents will be submitted to Italy for formal review and approval.

This collaboration marks another important step for RMUTL toward internationalization, creating meaningful opportunities for students, local communities, and international partners to engage in sustainable development and intercultural learning.
