Meeting with Weilan Optical (Thailand) Company Limited

On 1 May 2026, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, by Office of International Relations, organized a meeting with representatives from Weilan Optical (Thailand) Company Limited, namely Mr. Shawn Li, Recruitment Manager, and Mr. Darly Yuan, HR Director. They were accompanied by Mr.Tulayanusorn Suphasa from Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, who served as the interpreter. The meeting was graciously presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Thitibhorn Phantachang, Assistant to the President, with the participation of relevant faculty members and staff from the Office of International Relations. The meeting took place at Leelawadee Meeting Room, 1st Floor, Administration Building, RMUTL.

During the meeting, the company representatives provided an overview of Weilan Optical (Thailand) Company Limited, an OEM manufacturer specializing in eyewear and optical components, with a strong export focus on European and U.S. markets. Headquartered in China, the company expanded its manufacturing base to Thailand in 2023 to support the growth of the global supply chain. Currently, the company operates its main production facility in Samut Prakan and is in the process of establishing an additional factory in Chonburi to enhance production capacity and support future workforce expansion.

In addition, the representatives presented internship and employment opportunities for students, including details on career pathways, fields of recruitment, and required skill sets. The company expressed particular interest in graduates from Engineering and Industrial Design, which align well with the strengths of RMUTL students.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Mold and Tool Engineering Laboratory, as well as the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture at RMUTL (Jet Yod Campus), to explore the university’s academic facilities, learning environment, and potential areas for future collaboration.

This meeting reflects a strong partnership between academia and industry, aiming to bridge academic learning with real-world practice. It provides valuable opportunities for students to develop professional skills in an international context and enhances workforce readiness in alignment with industry demands, contributing to sustainable development in the long term.
