On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL),by Office of International Relations and Faculty of Engineering, held a joint meeting with representatives from Guizhou Light Industry Technology College (GLITC), People's Republic of China. The delegation was led by Mr. Wu Binru, Vice Party Secretary and President of GLITC, along with Ms. Yang Liyan, Dean of Waikato International College, Mr. Lv Zhijun, Dean of the Department of Information Engineering, Mr. Ge Kun, Vice Dean of the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Ms. Nie Xichen, staff of Waikato International College, and representatives from Beijing Huatec Information Technology Co., Ltd., including Ms. Lao Shasha, Director of ASEAN Business Strategy for Thailand HUATEC.
The meeting was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Uthen Kamnarn, Acting President of RMUTL, and attended by Assistant Professor Phisit Wimonthanisith, Vice President for Planning, Policy, and Strategy, Assistant Professor Dr. Anon Numin, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Research, and Academic Services, Assistant Professor Dr. Thitiporn Phanthachang, Assistant to the President, and Assistant Professor Surasak Yusawat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Other faculty members and relevant personnel also joined the meeting, which was held in Room 207, Building C3 at the RMUTL Doi Saket Campus in Chiang Mai.
The meeting focused on discussing future collaboration opportunities and reviewing the progress of the ongoing partnership between GLITC and RMUTL, coordinated by HUATEC. The partnership has led to developments in electric vehicle technology, Big Data technology, faculty exchange programs, short-term and long-term training programs, and a Higher Vocational Certificate Program in electric vehicle technology. Additionally, representatives from the Faculty of Engineering who had previously participated in or were preparing to join the short-term training program at GLITC in November 2024 attended the meeting and expressed their gratitude to GLITC leadership.
After the meeting, the delegation toured the Big Data laboratory, which was financially supported by GLITC, as well as the electronic and automation engineering laboratories and the electric vehicle lab. They also presented a plaque for the "Overseas Training Base for Teachers of Vocational and Technical Colleges in Guizhou Light Industry" at the Jingshi Institute of RMUTL, Doi Saket District.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at RMUTL's Jed Yod Campus, where they were welcomed by Mr. Natee Sampuranaphan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Architecture, along with Associate Professor Paiboon Lhasomsri and other faculty members. The group presented their work in the fields of fine arts, design, art technology, and architecture.
